Dallas Mom arrested for trying to sell baby for $4,000 in classified ad

The would-be buyer contacted Dallas police on Thursday, 21st June to let them know that she had responded to a newspaper advertisement about a woman offering to sell her four month old baby for $4,000.

Megan Heichelbeck, the would-be buyer said that at first she had wanted to adopt the baby but later changed her mind and went on to notify the police.

According to Megan, the mother of the infant was looking for a better home for her infant. She wanted someone to take care of him and do the things that needed to be done.

The full extent of infant’s plight came to light after managers of the mother’s apartment in Plano, Dallas, entered her home on Friday to collect rent. The baby boy known as Eden was discovered alone in his crib, with his mother nowhere in sight.

A short while later she drove home in her Honda, with an empty car seat at the back. Authorities took her into custody on charges of child abandonment, while the infant was handed into the care of Child Protective Services (CPS).

The police statement says the four-month-old baby is in good condition and has been handed over to CPS.

‘The mother was transported to police headquarters to be interviewed by detectives. We cannot release her name at this time until she has been booked into jail,’adds the Dallas police statement. The mother’s name, meanwhile, has not been released.
