Nature in the raw with spectacular beauty. Nicknamed ‘Booming Ice Cavern’ because of the extraordinary acoustics; which make conversation almost impossible through rocks continually falling on to the rock hard crystal clear ice. This covers the bottom of the cave like a colossal ice slide and never thaws.
Formed by melting snow and rainwater trickling into the 450 metre deep cavern. Explorers need pitons and ice axes to traverse this treacherous covering. Over thousands of years it looks as if this spectacular cave may become totally sealed by a solid mass of ice.
