A video is making its rounds on the Internet where Russell Brand jokingly takes off his wedding ring. The video was posted on YouTube this past November 14, nearly a month before the funnyman filed for divorce from his wife Katy Perry.
“I’m going to learn first hand about sororities,” Russell said in a video to promote his college tour. “I’m just going to place this (takes wedding ring off) some place very safe for the next week.”

Meanwhile, Katy announced via Twitter on Monday that she would not be attending the People’s Choice Awards on Wednesday night despite being nominated seven times. She wrote:
“Unfortunately I will not be able to attend the People’s Choice Awards. I want to thank u all for voting for me, fingers crossed! #KATYCATS”
Prior to this, she also tweeted in regards to the tabloid reports: “Concerning the gossip, I want to be clear that NO ONE speaks for me. Not a blog, magazine, ‘close sources’ or my family.”
