The world lost a huge talent when Notorious B.I.G. was gunned down 15 years ago in a shocking L.A. drive-by.
But one thing remains certain: that the influential rapper was deeply loved and respected by those he continues to inspire.
Lil’ Kim appeared on MTV‘s RapFix Live and recalled a memorable conversation she had with the late rapper: “I was his biggest fan, rockin’ with him. And I was shorty, I was his pride and joy. Sometimes he would say to me, ‘I feel like you’re my baby, like I birthed you.'”
Others took to Twitter to celebrate Biggie:
“Be excellent for Biggie. He took excellence seriously. RIP Biggie,” Estelle retweeted.
Fabolous: “I got Brooklyn on my back…#RIPBig.”
Keyshia Cole: “I remember Biggie came to Eastmont Mall in Oakland. Just a kid, I said ‘Can’t believe u came here.’ He said ‘Why wouldn’t I?’ RIP Biggie!”
Sean “Diddy” Combs: “#BigRip RT to da world!”
Jerry Ferrara: “Props to 93.5 radio in L.A. Full Biggie tribute, bringing me back in a nostalgic way.”
LeBron James: “Poppa been smooth since days of Underroos #Biggie.”
The Game: “RIP to the King of New York.”
