Trayvon Martin Shooting Case

A 17-year-old Trayvon Martin shot dead by George Zimmerman on the night of Feb. 26.George who is the neighborhood watch crime captain communicated with police through a written statement that Martin knocked him down by punching him on the nose, slammed his head on the ground over and over again and tried to take his gun out, a police source told ABC News.

Moreover, 13-year-old Austin Brown, who is an eyewitness, told police he saw a man looking like Zimmerman lying on the grass groaning and crying for help few seconds before he heard the gunshot that killed Martin.

The opening police report mentioned that Zimmerman’s back of the head and nose were bleeding, and after medical treatment it was decided that he can travel in a police cruiser to the Sanford, Fla., police station for questioning since he was in good enough condition. He was not detained.

ABC News has also came across the info about Martin that he was staying in Sanford at the time of the event for the reason being that he was suspended from Krop High School in Miami when school officials found him with an empty baggy which they suspected contained pot. Family spokesperson Ryan Julison confirmed to ABC News that Martin was suspended for “a baggy that had contained marijuana.”

Sybrina Fulton, Martin’s mother, talking at a news conference said that , “All I’ve got to say is they killed my son, and now they’re trying to kill his reputation.”

Zimmerman, 28, is 5-foot-9 and weighs well over 200 pounds claimed it was a self-defense.

The Authorities said that different parts of the investigation might only take a few more days to complete and if any charges ever come, could take weeks.
