Pakistan's University girl kidnapped, gang-raped for 2 and half a month

Mirpur Khas, Pakistan: A young girl, who was kidnapped allegedly by her three neighbors from Ward-13 of Digri town of Mirpur Khas district, Sindh Province of Pakistan, about two and half a month back, and was gang-raped during this period, reached home after escaping from the captivity of kidnappers, she is the still fighting for Justice.

Samreen Sana Soomro, Student of Sindh University Jamshoro, had left her home for University when three accused Tahseen Laghari, Nadeem Laghari and Shoaib Laghari kidnapped her.

They first intoxicated me and then took to Hyderabad where I was confined in a small room. At that place they forcedly took my thumb impression on Nikahnama in the presence of two persons Zulfiqar Laghari and Aziz Laghari, she alleged saying that later they kept her at different places in the rural area of Mirpur Khas.

All these five persons used to hold whisky party and gang-raped me using intoxicating tablets during this period, victim told adding that when her condition deteriorated she was taken to a private hospital in Mirpur Khas from where she managed to escape with the help of her sister who is an advocate.

It may be mentioned that Usman Soomro, father of Samreen Sana, had filed a petition against her abduction in Sindh High Court.

Samreen Sana and her elder sister have appealed national and international human rights organizations for protection as the perpetrators were extending threats of life to them.

Over 8539 cases of violence against women were reported during 2011 in Pakistan. A large number of these cases involved acid throwing and rape incidents.
