This is our community. This is our commitment,” he added.

Meanwhile the fundraiser has already garnered $200 million (£125 million), due to the generous contributions of stars like of Tom Cruise and Steven Spielberg and many others. However, the group hopes more stars will come forward and dig deeper into their pockets.

Speaking to about the campaign, MPTF executive Bob Beitcher opines, “The fact is that today we can’t anticipate what kind of help and support they’ll need from MPTF. But we can be certain that there will continue to be needs that otherwise won’t be filled without the support of our charity.”

It may be noted, MPTF a non-profit organization was founded way back in 1921 by Hollywood legends like Charlie Chaplin, Douglas Fairbanks and Mary Pickford, among others.
